Your Rights, Bikes, and the Police
Do I need a helmet? Bike lights? What are my rights when I'm stopped
by the police? What do I do when the police ask to search my bag?
Join Portland Copwatch and Attorney Mark Ginsberg for an information
session addressing bicycle traffic law in Portland, and basic rights
to know for being stopped by, harmed by, or when observing the police.
The "Your Rights, Bicycles and the Police" seminar will be held as part of
Pedalpalooza on Wednesday, June 23 at 5:30 PM at the law office of
Berkshire
Ginsberg, LLC, 1216 SE Belmont St. Reservations are required.
Specific questions are welcomed. We expect to go for about 90 minutes.
Please call or email ahead of time, as we want to limit the session to a
manageable 15 participants: 503-236-3065 or
trainings@portlandcopwatch.org
At the end of the session will be an optional, short and informal ride
to the food carts on SE 12th & Hawthorne.
This event is being presented in conjunction with Pedalpalooza, a 17-day celebration of "bike fun"
in Portland with over 250 events scheduled all over the city.
